Hello, I'm Lauren

Hello! I'm Lauren, and I have built Funtastic English because I believe learning a language should feel like an adventure, not homework. Whether you're preparing for KET, PET, First, CAE, Proficiency or IELTS, or simply want to speak English more confidently, I'll build lessons around what actually helps you improve.

I've been teaching English for 25 years, both in schools and online, and I'm CELTA certified. Over that time I've worked with children, teens and adults, with a particular focus on exam preparation — so whatever stage you're at, I've likely helped a student just like you get there.

I've always worked in Italy, and what I love most about teaching is the exchange it brings — getting to know different cultures, languages and an international way of life through every student I meet.

My teaching philosophy starts with listening. No two students learn the same way, so I shape each lesson around what you genuinely need, rather than following a fixed script. I believe progress comes from encouragement as much as effort — plenty of praise along the way, and feedback that guides rather than discourages, so every correction feels like a step forward, not a setback.

My sessions mix exam strategy with real conversation, so you're not just memorising rules — you're using the language the way people actually speak it.
